Richard has over 20 years of experience in the UK financial markets in lending and investment activities. In 2013, Richard co-founded Ortus Secured Finance, an alternative credit provider specialising in property backed lending, and was its CEO until September 2023. Richard graduated from the University of Birmingham and is a Chartered Accountant.
Iris has worked within the Kvika Group since 2016, initially as General Counsel of Virding hf., or until the merger with Kvika at the end of 2017 when she became Director of Organisational Development within the Group. She served as Chairman of the Board of Kvika Securities until June 2020 when she became the Director of Operations of the Company. Before joining Kvika, Iris was the General Counsel at H.F. Securities hf. She has also held positions in the field of finance and business law at Frjalsi Investment bank hf., the Icelandic Financial Supervisory Authority and as Senior Associate at LOGOS legal services. Iris has an LL.M degree in banking and financial regulations from the London School of Economicsis and is a Certified securities Broker and a District Court Attorney in Iceland.
Chief Economist
Hafsteinn joined the Kvika Group in 2019 following its acquisition of GAMMA Capital Management Ltd, where he served as Director. Previously, he held roles with sovereign advisory Newstate Partners in London, as well as Arion Bank Research in Reykjavik, where he was a leading commentator on the Icelandic economy and produced substantive market research. An alumnus of the London School of Economics, Hafsteinn also spent five years covering economics and financial markets as a journalist in Reykjavik, including close to two years as a broadcast journalist for Channel 2 evening news.
Investment Manager
Helgi joined the Kvika Group in 2019 following its acquisition of GAMMA Capital Management Ltd, where he served as Director. He has a wealth of experience when it comes to financial markets, having worked in the field for over twenty years – both in Reykjavik and London. His previous roles include Global Head of Investment Banking and Managing Director of Kaupthing Ltd., and Head of Special Products at Alfesca (previously Iceland Seafood) in the UK.
Investment Manager
Andri has an established background in investment banking and corporate finance. He joined the Kvika Group in 2017. Before transitioning to Kvika Securities, he served as a Director with Kvika Corporate Finance in Reykjavik. Prior to that role, he worked for Deloitte in Corporate Finance Advisory, and held positions in accounting. Andri holds an MSc in Finance and Investment from the University of Edinburgh.
Associate
Max joined the Kvika Group in October 2022. Prior to joining Kvika, he worked at BNP Paribas within their Corporate Coverage, Leverage Finance and M&A divisions in London. Before this, Max worked at Natixis within their Private Banking department in Luxembourg.
Office Manager
Magda joined the Kvika Group in December 2022. Prior to joining Kvika she was office manager and executive assistant at Bloc Ventures, Bloc portfolio company Marmalade Game Studios, and at Investit, now part of the Accenture investment management insights business. She has over a decade’s worth of experience in providing administrative support, both at an individual level as well as group level. Magda has a Master and Engineering degree in Environmental Protection (Natural Resources) and postgraduate study in Health and Safety in a work place.
Head of Finance
Simon joined the Kvika Group in July 2024 and brings a wealth of experience gained at Big 4 firms and the finance teams of insurance multinationals. Most recently he headed the finance Plan for the iptiQ division at Swiss Re. He has varied experience including FP&A, valuations, financial advisory, transfer pricing and UK and international tax. Simon is a UK Chartered Accountant and holds a Finance MBA and an Economics BA.
Finance Analyst
Hanna joined Kvika Group in June 2024. She holds an MSc in Economics from the London School of Economics & Political Science and a BSc in Economics from the University of Iceland. Previously, she worked in the Finance division at Eimskip.
